ARUSHI meaning THE DAWN, is a non-profit registered trust working for the cause of senior citizens and providing educational assistance to the children of poor families.
ARUSHI has at a time 75 senior citizens of poor families living in JJ colonies / Janta flats / jhuggies which have been adopted for their food, clothing & medical aid. Dry ration is distributed to them on the 1st of every month which includes compulsory items like: |
Other items distributed occasionally include biscuits, rusks, semolina (suji), mustard oil and chyavanprash. Scarfs, caps, woolens, suits & sarees are also provided to them occasionally.
Wheel chair, walking sticks, spectacles are also given to senior citizens by Arushi as per the case. Seminars, inter-school debate & declamation contest on topics related to senior citizens are also organized.
Children of poor families and grand children of these senior citizens have also been adopted by ARUSHI for their education. School books & reference books for senior class students, copies, stationery, uniform & in some cases school fees & tuition fees is also paid by ARUSHI to the needy children. |
